Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Assembly Logistics Technician perform various tasks associated with the automated tape dispenser program. This position reports to the Assembly Logistics Technician Lead.  Offers support to the Shurtape Marketing Group, Customer Service and Outside Sales teams as related to specific distribution activities in receiving, inventory control, light assembly, serial number tracking/documentation and shipping of equipment along with parts/accessories. Conducts rebuilding and rework process for used equipment. This position requires that the user be trained in SAP planning and material movement activities as the user will be receiving inventory, consuming materials, and creating deliveries.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

General

  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe build-to-order work area.
  • Manage daily trash and recycling collection and disposal.
  • Update and maintain digital knowledgebase of customer and equipment files.
  • Provide verbal technical support to territory sales managers, distributors, and end users.
  • Participates and contributes towards department goals for cost savings, supplier performance, and quality as measured by key performance indicators (KPI’s).

Assembly

  • Process build-to-order fulfillment.
  • Process part order fulfillment.
  • Prioritize build-to-order and part order work log to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Maintain neat and orderly inventory of equipment and parts including the following:
    • Systematic Inventory control of Tier 1 & 2 materials.
    • Maintain a non-systematic inventory control process for Tier 3 materials.
  • Fabricate, configure, and modify equipment to fit specific customer requirements per order.
  • Package shipments as necessary to ensure safe transit of equipment and parts/accessories.
  • Quality assurance check of orders prior to shipping based on customer specific or packaging technician request.
  • Record, maintain, and control tape head serial number tracking.
  • Monitor part requests to determine appropriate allocation. Providing feedback to Territory Sales Managers if determined that part requests are over determined threshold.

Rework

  • Conducts equipment rework and rebuild activities.
  • Inspect incoming used equipment for worn or defective parts, replacing them as necessary.
  • Clean used equipment to make appearance “like new”.
  • Material movements of tier one items from return, block status, and stock.
  • Material movements of tier two items from issued goods to inventoried goods.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma /GED or equivalent experience.
  • Organized and detailed oriented.
  • Basic mechanical and math skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervisor, self- motivated, and be a team member.
  • Ability to clearly communicate via verbal and written skill sets.
  • Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Excel, Work, and Outlook).

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to type, stand, and work in a workshop environment for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds of supplies and equipment. Lifting over 30 pounds will require a 2-person lift.
  • Frequent positioning and lifting of equipment.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and stoop when required.
  • Follow knife safety guidelines and be comfortable using sharp blades.
