SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Rewinder position is responsible for removing defects on damaged rolls of tape by operating departmental equipment to ensure quality standards and production specifications are achieved.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Rewind rolls containing defects, remove all defects, make proper splices, transport and deliver items to appropriate storage areas
• Enter data into SAP computer system
• Record production output and data on simple forms and in the computer
• Process any specialty or R&D items that are capable of being re-wound on the machine
• Assist in other areas of the department when not rewinding
• Understand and monitor conditions during run to ensure usable product for the next operation
• Marks roll coming off the re-winder for proper identification as specified in work instructions
• Comply with departmental programs of safety and housekeeping by keeping the area neat and clean
• Suggest any changes that will reduce cost, improve product quality or processing, and/or promote safety
• Perform adjustments and inspections on machine to maintain production and quality output

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Valid tow motor/forklift license
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, specifications, and safety protocols
• Familiarity with computer data entry (training will be provided if necessary)
• Quality conscious; ability to identify defects as material is processed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Ability to position and lift 50 - 100 pounds
• Ability to lift, bend, & stoop when required and stand for extended periods
