Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Network Administrator is primary responsible for the configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of all networking infrastructures both IT and OT networks. This includes but is not limited to physical cabling, wireless connections, LAN/WAN, Voice, end user devices, and printers. They will also be responsible for managing vendors for third party services for cabling, security or telecommunications

 

Network administrators will be expected to handle issues within the environment in a timely manner with a professional level of support. Utilizing the internal ticketing system to document issues, troubleshooting and resolutions. Administrators will also be tasked with documenting any changes that are made and updating internal monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage and maintain IT and OT network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, wireless, firewalls, VPN, NAC, and connectivity to public network services.
  • Configure, update, patch troubleshoot and replace networking devices such as switches, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor and resolve network alerts, errors and incidents; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain network documentation, inventory, incident/change records, and end-users documentation.
  • Coordinate installation, maintenance and repair work with external service providers and vendors.
  • Support voice and communication systems, including Webex, phones, speaker system, 3rdparty applications, and E-911.
  • Manage printers, including installation, troubleshooting, repair coordination, and maintaining print servers.
  • Provide after hours on-call support on rotating basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong ability to configure and troublehoot network devices (switches, routers, wireless access points).
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools (Windows, O365, Azure) and basic computer hardware.
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Nutanix).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work patiently with users.
  • Proficiency in office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Ability to create detailed technical and end-suer documentation.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or associate degree with equivalent work experience.
  • Technical certification (e.g., CCNA or other networking certification).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting Microsoft Windows in a networked environment.
  • Minimum 2 years experience providing network technical support.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required.

  • Ability to deploy and support systems in remove locations; some travel required.
  • Prolonged sitting, typing and telephone use.
  • Manual dexterity for technical tasks.
  • Occasional lifting and transport of IT equipment (e.g., computers, monitors, printers); carts provided.
