Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Receiving Assistant performs clerical duties related to receiving materials and supplies, processes returned tape, and maintains proper storage of same until final disposition is determined; maintains ISO records as required.

Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Schedules delivery times for paper trucks – all other material is first come first served
    • Loads and unloads material on trucks
    • Performs SAP transactions to receive and return material
    • Tags and identifies all received goods per established procedures
    • Communicates with Shurtape trucking to set up shipments and deliveries to ensure a smooth flow of materials to and from the plant(s) and Distribution
    • Communicates receipt of all returned tape shipments to Sales; maintains proper storage of same until disposition
    • Performs SAP transactions related to returned shipments
    • Makes necessary notifications to rail carriers of railcars for prompt release or delivery
    • Prepares Quality Assurance rejected materials for return shipping
    • Makes 2 copies of receipts paperwork – 1 to file and 1 to send to Accounts Payable
    • Checks, stamps, and files Certificates of Analysis on received raw materials
    • Maintains inventory of all pallets and order as needed
    • Backs up Tank House Attendant – Unloads tank trucks & rail cars as necessary
    • Backs up Tank House Attendant – Performs tank readings as necessary
    • Supervises Tank House Attendant in absence of Finishing Production Manager

Performs other duties as assigned by Production Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to lift heavy or bulky items when necessary
  • Safety minded
  • Able to work with minimum of supervision; able to make complex decisions and multitask
  • Experience in data entry via SAP
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook (email)

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education/Certification Requirements
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Valid tow motor license
    • Successfully train on DOT Hazardous Materials Requirements and pass in-house assessments

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment.  Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion. 

 

  • Some outside work is required
  • High noise levels in certain parts of the plant
  • Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
  • Wears a harness when on top of railcars
