SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Truck Driver operates a tractor trailer to deliver material from plant to plant or distribution center
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
o Operates semi-truck with one trailer according to state laws; transports load over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations
o Follows all dock safety procedures specific to securing a trailer to the facility for loading/unloading
o Ensures shipping documents are on trailer for the receiving personnel to accept load; maintains any related records required
o Performs miscellaneous service duties such as checking, on a daily basis, oil, water, diesel, and air in tires; reports any maintenance malfunctions to Traffic/Logistics Manager
o Sweeps out trailer when not busy
o Switches empty/full trailers in shipping dock area and yard
o Conducts various projects as assigned by his or her manager
o Follows all state, federal, and company safety rules/regulations

JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS
o Valid Class A CDL License
