Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Calender Operater operates the calender to produce a finished tape in accordance with specifications and procedures established by Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Engineering.

Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Obtains daily shift schedule from Calendering/Mixing Shift Manager
  • Checks with Calendering/Mixing Shift Manager for any NSOP
  • Checks operating specifications
  • Verifies recipe on Beta Gauge
  • Checks specification for Corona Treater (if needed)
  • Checks all safety interlocks/guards before start-up
  • Checks top, middle and bottom roll temperatures, and records each hour
  • Monitors Beta Gauge; adjusts weight as needed
  • Monitors adhesive bank
  • Follows “Red Tag” procedures if required
  • Follows all plant housekeeping and safety rules
  • Adjusts the calender

Makes preventive maintenance and safety inspections

  • Understanding of production schedules

    JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Certification Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • May be required to obtain a tow-motor license
